Russian targets were attacked by Ukrainian drones. Drones now have a flight range of 1,250 km.
For the second day in a row, Russia was attacked by drones. Focused on oil terminals and the largest gunpowder plant in the Russian Federation. The flight range of drones is also interesting. Thus, UAVs flew over the Leningrad region for the first time, covering more than 1,200 km. He will tell you what kind of “bavovna” they brought to Russia Correspondent.net in the plot.
Farthest target
For the first time, the Russian Ministry of Defense admitted the drone attack in the Leningrad region. It happened on the night of January 18th. The agency traditionally announced a kamikaze drone and successful air defense operations. However, the media reported several UAVs, explosions and fires at an oil depot in St. Petersburg.
It is noteworthy that St. Petersburg Oil Terminal is Russia’s largest terminal for the transshipment of petroleum products in the Baltic region.
The Ukrainian media called it a special operation of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.
“Data collection continues, there is confirmation of hits on targets. Now the military facilities of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region are within the reach of Ukrainian forces,” a source in the security forces told Ukrainian Pravda.
Later, Minister of Strategic Industries Alexander Kamyshin added to a panel at the Ukrainian House in Davos that St. Petersburg was attacked by a Ukrainian-made drone covering a distance of 1,250 km.

Oil terminal in the port of St. Petersburg
So, the oil depot in St. Petersburg became the most distant target hit by Ukraine. Prior to this, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked only the airfields in Engels and near Pskov, located approximately 700 km from the nearest possible launch site from the territory controlled by Kyiv.
In addition, attacks by Ukrainian drones in the central part of Russia show its weak air defense system, as drones can easily reach the desired targets. But if the Russian air defense works, it is only at the last moment and at the closest approach to the targets.
Attack on another oil depot
On the morning of January 19, Ukrainian UAVs brought “Bavovna” to the Bryansk region. So, after the attack, a fire started at the oil depot in Klinets.
The regional governor made a strange statement. According to him, the drone-type drone was intercepted by the electronic warfare equipment of the Russian Ministry of Defense, but when the drone was destroyed, “the bullet was dropped on the territory of the Klintsov oil depot.” The Russian military subsequently supported this version.
According to preliminary information from local authorities, there were no casualties. 13 fire tankers tried to put out the fire. The fire area is more than a thousand square meters, four tanks with gasoline are burning. Photos and videos of the fire were published on social networks.
According to Russian media, the Klintsovskaya oil depot belongs to the Bryansknefteprodukt company, part of Rosneft. In May 2023, the governor of the Bryansk region already reported an attack on an oil depot. Then the concrete base and the tank for storing petroleum products were partially damaged.
Later it became known that the drone strike on the Klintsy oil depot was another special operation of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on the territory of the Russian Federation. Sources in law enforcement agencies told reporters that in addition to the Bryansk oil depot, drones attacked the Tambov powder plant in the city of Kotovsk.
“Putin has concentrated more electronic warfare and air defense systems on Ukrainian-occupied territories, military facilities on the territory of the Russian Federation will continue to be developed,” the source told Ukrainskaya Pravda.
Officially, the Ukrainian authorities did not comment on the attack.
One of the biggest factories
As for Kotovsk, Russian authorities reported that the attack on the gunpowder factory was carried out by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but it was allegedly “unsuccessful.”
At the same time, this is not the first attack on this gunpowder plant, which, by the way, is the largest in the Russian Federation. So, last year, explosions occurred at the plant twice: in June and November. In the first case, four people died, and the cause of the explosion was “human factor.”
According to Russian public reports, today the drones hit the plant for about four hours.
“An aircraft-type UAV fell on a site near the gunpowder mixing workshop. There were no injuries or damage, but the personnel were still evacuated for safety,” Telegram channels reported.
