The former British leader supports the former US President if he supports Ukraine.
Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has backed Donald Trump as the next US president, saying the politician could be “exactly what the world needs” if Trump supports Ukraine. He wrote about it in a column for the Daily Mail on Friday, January 19, Politico reports.
“We all have to grow up and get used to this prospect. If he does the right thing and supports the Ukrainians – and I believe he will – a Trump presidency could be a great victory for the world,” Johnson said.
According to the former British Prime Minister, “the world needs a leader whose willingness to use force and complete unpredictability is the main obstacle to the enemies of the West.” Johnson called Trump “a passionate supporter of free markets and capital who is interested in a sound free trade agreement with the UK.”
“Trump is your man,” the politician emphasized.
Johnson recalled that Trump was the first US president to stand up for Ukraine, giving it Javelin anti-tank weapons in 2018, which were decisive in the battle for Kyiv.
As you know, on January 15, Trump won the first Republican presidential primaries in Iowa.
Let’s remember that the previous President Vladimir Zelensky said that he was ready to listen to Trump’s specific “peace plan” regarding the war in Ukraine. But our state will not give its territories to Russia.
