Western-made electronic components have been found more than once in the remains of Russian missiles in Ukraine.
Russia needs Western household equipment to use parts from them to build its own missiles. This was announced on Saturday, January 13, by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmitry Kuleba.
He referred to data from the Ermak-McFaul group, which stated that 44% of all electronic components of Russian weapons were developed by Western companies.
“Russia uses washing machines, microwaves and other household appliances not for washing and eating, but to take individual spare parts from them, so that later they can be built into their missiles and kill Ukrainians,” emphasized the foreign minister.
As a result, Kuleba called on the countries of the G7 and the European Union to “listen to Ukraine and take decisive action” to cut off supplies of goods containing electronics to Russia.
It was previously reported that Russia has largely been able to evade sanctions on technology exports, allowing Moscow to manufacture weapons and continue the war against Ukraine.
Let’s recall that Russia plans to start serial production of the new Drel glide bomb by the end of 2024.
