The work of the Ukrainian “grain corridor” has reached its capacity, which was before the full-scale invasion of Russia.

500 ships and more than 10 million tons of cargo have already passed along this route. The vast majority of cargo is grain, which is in such short supply in the so-called global South. Press Secretary of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Dmitry Pletenchuk stated this on air of the telethon.
As for his work, he actually reached his capacity for a full-scale invasion. We have already crossed the border with 500 ships and more than 10 million tons of cargo,” he noted.
The Navy emphasized that the “grain agreement” is not an alternative to the Ukrainian trade route that existed before the invasion. In addition, Ukraine does not have the necessary capabilities to clear mines in the Black Sea, but uses underwater drones to clear mines in order to secure cargo traveling by sea.
As is known, in mid-July 2023, the Russian Federation withdrew from the “grain agreement”, which allowed the export of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea. After this, Kyiv decided to resume exports without Moscow’s renewed participation. The aggressor country is still trying to impede the work of the “grain corridor” – it bypasses the Black Sea and attacks ports and infrastructure.
Let us recall that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in his New Year’s address stated that the new “grain corridor” allowed the export of almost 13 million tons of Ukrainian grain as of December 31.
