Together with Zaluzhny, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Sergei Shaptala, visited Kupyansk. Colonel General and commander of the operational-strategic group of troops “Khortitsa” Alexander Syrsky briefed them on the situation in this direction. The Ministry of Defense reported this.
Syrsky told where Ukrainian fighters are fighting off the enemy’s constant attempts to attack and assured that the Russians cannot achieve success in the Kupyansk area.
I had the honor to meet with the commanders of the units who are fighting in this direction now. They reported on the situation and current challenges,” Umerov said.
The minister assured that decisions will be made soon and “the enemy will not like it.”
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that in the zone of responsibility of the Ukrainian Armed Forces of Ukraine “Khortitsa” in the Kupyansky direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled five enemy attacks near Sinkovka, Kharkov region.
Let us recall that the American Institute for the Study of War recently stated that the Russian military is planning to capture Kupyansk in the Kharkov region in the near future. Currently, Russia does not have enough forces in this area for a large-scale offensive, but the enemy has favorable conditions to intensify operations in this bridgehead with the intention of achieving territorial gains.
