In a video message to the people of Ukraine on the last day of 2023, President Vladimir Zelensky announced the awarding of state awards to nearly 700 Ukrainian defenders.
“December 31. The second year of a full-scale war. Our resistance. The day before, I signed several decrees – decrees about the honor for our soldiers, our gratitude to them. And I want to say about of them now. Almost 700 soldiers. Army. Air Force. Navy. GUR. Five Heroes of Ukraine, and four of them are intelligence officers, soldiers of the Main Intelligence Directorate. Those with heroic deeds can no longer be talk about, but we must thank everyone. Our heroes Another Gold Star of the Hero of Ukraine – to a warrior of the Armed Forces, junior Sergeant Igor Tymoshchuk, I personally presented him with the award on a trip to Avdievka. He is a very strong man. A strong commander. One of those that is truly inspiring,” the president said.
Another award is the Cross of Military Merit. The President named the four recipients of this recognition.
“Four more soldiers have now been marked with Crosses of Military Merit: soldier Oleg Duzhenky from the 130th separate reconnaissance battalion, soldier Nikita Kalyaev from the 115th separate mechanized brigade of the reserve corps of our Ground Forces, captain Bogdan Mazurenko from the 35th separate naval. Strizhobik – 47- I am a separate mechanized brigade. Thank you all, everyone! The President’s speech ended with traditional words of thanks to those who brought victory closer.
Earlier it was reported that Zelensky responded to the shelling of Kharkov. He assured that for every blow inflicted on the Ukrainian regions, Russia will face the responsibility – both political and practical.
