The protesters will not only lift their blockade for the holidays, but will tighten it further, allowing nine times fewer trucks to pass.

Polish carriers at the Dorogusk checkpoint will continue to block the Ukrainian border on Christmas Day, and will only allow one commercial truck to pass every three hours instead of three per hour. Edita Ozygala, one of the leaders of the truckers’ protest in Doroguska, told Reuters on Saturday, December 23.

“We are intensifying the protest by only allowing one truck to pass every three hours,” he said, adding that the transport of humanitarian aid and military equipment is not blocked.

Ozygaly’s statement came against the backdrop of an agreement by Polish farmers blocking the Medika-Shegini crossing to suspend their protest on the morning of December 24.

We remind you that this week Polish truckers, after a short break, resumed blocking the checkpoint in Doroguska. According to the Polish Customs Service, on Saturday the wait at the crossing was 77 hours.

Also, the border crossings at Grebennoye and Korchev remain blocked by Polish carriers, with the blockers allowing a few vehicles per hour.
