Alexander Kamyshin said that the country has more than 50 manufacturers of ammunition for drones, “both public and private.”
Factories in Ukraine are ready to produce ammunition for a million drones. They plan to transfer finished UAVs to Ukrainian defenders in 2024. Minister for Strategic Industries Alexander Kamyshin announced this on his Telegram channel on Friday, December 22.
The official noted that President Vladimir Zelensky’s words about “one million drones” triggered discussions about the importance of drones, the adequacy of such a number or the possibility of producing ammunition.
“Regarding ammunition for drones, we have the capacity to produce them. Deregulation in this segment has led to the development of many new manufacturers. We now have more than 50 manufacturers of ammunition for drones, public and private, capable of producing bullets weighing from 300 g to 10 kg, different types,” he emphasized.
According to him, the Ministry of Defense team is actively testing new ammunition for drones and is quickly putting them into service.
“Ammunition for drones should be made in factories, not in trenches. And the factories are ready for this,” concluded Kamyshin.
As we have already written, at a press conference, President Vladimir Zelensky said that Ukraine will produce a million drones next year. At the same time, he was surprised by delays in the delivery of thousands of drones to the front.
