Poland’s newly appointed minister said he was talking to protesters every day and trying to stop the protest.
The protest of carriers at the Ukrainian border is a “Gordian knot that has dragged on.” This is what the newly appointed Minister of Infrastructure of Poland Dariusz Klimczak said, RAR reports on Monday, December 18.
At the same time, Klimchak noted that the inaction of the predecessors of the Polish government led to such a situation on the Polish-Ukrainian border. According to him, solving the problem with the carriers will be difficult.
“This is the first time we can start discussing an agreement on the liberalization of transportation. We know that this agreement is a bone of contention, which is why the carriers are protesting at the border,” Klimchak said.
He also announced a meeting with Ukrainian Minister Alexander Kubrakov and said that he talks to the protesters every day.
“We are looking for a common denominator based on which we can at least suspend the protest,” he said.
We remind you that on Monday Polish carriers again blocked the passage of trucks at the Dorogusk-Yagodin checkpoint. Protest organizers plan to allow only one truck per hour through. Farmers from the United Village organization will also join the carriers. Farmers are demanding a halt to sugar imports from Ukraine, immediate payment of direct subsidies, maintenance of the excise tax rate on fuel at the same level, and compensation for corn producers.
