The Ministry of Defense of Russia announced that during the evening and morning of December 17, the country’s air defense allegedly stopped attacks by 35 “Ukrainian” drones on targets in three regions. This was stated in the department’s Telegram message.
Allegedly, during the night, Russian air defense systems “destroyed and intercepted 33 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles” in the territories of Lipetsk, Rostov and Volgograd regions.
In the morning, two more UAVs were reportedly shot down in the Volgograd region.
According to Russian Telegram channels, the drones were headed for a military airfield in Morozovsk in the Rostov region. According to local governor Vasily Golubev, “the air defense shot down most of the drones.”
“This morning, the air defense forces repelled a massive attack by aircraft-type drones on the territory of the Rostov region in the area of Morozovsk and Kamensk. Most of the drones were destroyed. There were no casualties,” he said.
We remind you that on the night of December 16, drones attacked the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. Due to the raid, houses and power lines were damaged.
