Authorities are considering the possibility of launching a shuttle service using an intact tunnel in the section between closed stations – the train will move in both directions along one track without turning around at the end points.
Ruslan Kandibor, director of the Department of Transport Infrastructure of the Kyiv City State Administration, announced this on December 9.
According to him, the interval of such a train will be up to half an hour.
Closed metro stations in Kyiv were allowed to be used as shelter. We are talking about the following stations: “Demeyevskaya”, “Goloseevskaya”, “Vasilkovskaya”, “Exhibition Center”, “Hippodrome”, “Teremki”.
From December 8, train traffic between the Demeevskaya and Teremki metro stations will be closed for six months. Traffic is being stopped due to urgent repairs on the running tunnel between the Demeevskaya and Lybidskaya stations. The tunnel began to flood.
