The company expects that by the beginning of 2024 they will conclude an agreement with Ukraine on the production of Fuchs armored personnel carriers and Lynx infantry fighting vehicles. The Germans plan to produce armored personnel carriers in Ukraine from the end of summer 2024. BMPs are planned to be put into production by the summer of 2025. This was stated by Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger, writes Reuters.
Once the contract is signed, we want to complete the first Fuchs within six to seven months, and the first Lynx within 12 to 13 months, he noted.
There is no talk yet about the production of Panther tanks in Ukraine.
We would like to remind you that in October 2023, JSC Ukrainian Defense Industry and the Rheinmetall concern registered a joint venture – LLC Rheinmetall – Ukrainian Defense Industry. It should help with local production of equipment, maintenance and repair of Western weapons.
