He announced this today, November 30, in his evening video message.
According to Zelensky, he held two important meetings in Zaporozhye:
- operational – with the military, with generals Tarnavsky, Moskalev, Litvinov and “everyone who is responsible for the defense here, precisely in Zaporozhye”;
- in fact, a national one – in terms of fortification.
In all main areas where it is necessary to strengthen, to speed up the construction of structures,” Zelensky emphasized.
Of course, this is primarily Avdeevskoe, Maryinskoe and other directions in the Donetsk region – maximum attention. The Kharkov region is the Kupyansk direction, as well as the Kupyansk-Liman defense line. And the entire Kharkov region and Sumy region, and Chernihiv region, and Kiev and Rivne regions, Volyn. Also in the south is the Kherson region,” he added.
Zelensky noted that at the meeting he also listened to reports from regional authorities, all relevant military leaders, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and General Alexander Pavlyuk.
We discussed attracting resources, motivation, in particular, for private businesses in this work, and financing. The priority is obvious. I am grateful to everyone who works in this kind of construction, in the production of materials,” he said.
The President noted that the needs on which Ukraine would work with partners to strengthen defense lines were also discussed.
Special attention is to the construction of shelters in schools, in particular here in Zaporozhye and the region, so that children can study at least in a mixed format – and offline as well,” he noted.
