After disembarking, they quickly force the crew to surrender and take control of the ship. Then it moves accompanied by boats.
The Houthis said the Galaxy Leader was brought to the shores of Yemen and the crew members were being treated “in accordance with the teachings and values of Islam.” They call the ship Israeli, although it belongs to a British company. Israel officially denies the ownership of the vessel and reports that the crew are citizens of Ukraine, Bulgaria, the Philippines and Mexico. There are no Israelis there.

The vessel is owned by a British company and managed by a Japanese one.
The Houthis towed the ship to the Yemeni coast. The Japanese government condemned the hijacking and authorities are working to free the ship and crew.
Yemen’s Houthi rebels have seized the Galaxy Leader cargo ship in the Red Sea. There are 25 crew members on board the ship, including Ukrainians, The Jerusalem Post reports.
The Japanese company leased the vessel from a British company that is partly owned by Israeli Rami Unger. The ship left the port of Turkey in the direction of India and sailed under the flag of the Bahamas.
The Houthis previously said the group would target all ships owned or operated by Israeli companies or sailing under the Israeli flag.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry is checking the presence of Ukrainian citizens on the seized ship.
