Since the beginning of the year, almost 20 thousand road accidents occurred in Ukraine, in which almost 2.5 thousand people died. There were 1,631 road accidents and 91 victims in Kyiv.
In the first ten months of 2023, more than 19.7 thousand road accidents occurred in Ukraine, resulting in the death of 2,492 people. 24,774 others were injured. This was announced on Sunday, November 19, by the First Deputy Head of the Patrol Police Department, Alexey Beloshitsky.
He recalled that according to the UN Resolution, the third Sunday of November has been declared the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.
“Of course, the enemy is taking more lives of our soldiers and civilians every day. However, many of our citizens are injured and killed in unfortunate incidents such as road accidents. Some of the accidents in This road was also affected by the consequences of full-scale aggression,” said Beloshitsky.
Meanwhile, the metropolitan police reported that since the beginning of the year, 1,631 road accidents occurred in Kyiv. As a result, 91 people died and 1,832 more received injuries of varying severity.
They also noted that due to speeding, 256 accidents have occurred in the capital since the beginning of the year, 18 deaths and 294 injuries.
Law enforcement officers reminded that in populated areas, vehicle traffic is limited to a speed of 50 km/h. They also mentioned that for breaking the speed limit you have to pay a fine.
We remind you that as a result of an accident with a minibus, which occurred in the Polish village of Wereszyn, Lublin Voivodeship, two women and a 6-year-old child died. According to the police, 10 people were traveling on the bus, all of them citizens of Ukraine.
