The response video was published today, November 19, by the press service of the National Police.
These horses are from a farm in Lastochkino, which the Russians broke up in the spring of 2023. About 300 different animals died there then,” the report says.
It is noted that most of the surviving horses from this farm were evacuated along with the owner. However, these two animals remained and went wild and were not given into the hands of people.
The police and volunteers of the Animal Rescue Kharkov organization went after the Mustangs, among whom was a professional groom with his own horse. The plan was this: the game would see its brother and follow him, the police say.
However, upon arrival in Lastochkino these horses were not found. They searched everything – no one. Subsequently, the police, who went further on business to Avidievka, saw the animals against the backdrop of city ruins – in search of food, they rode about five kilometers into the city.
Since there was no communication, law enforcement officers quickly returned to the volunteers and together caught up with the animals. The plan worked. Noticing their comrade, the horses gradually followed him. Few residents could see this surreal procession: a rider and two horses slowly following him to the sound of explosions, the police say.
As a result, the animals were taken to a neighboring village, and in the near future they will be evacuated outside the region.
