Teenager Bogdan Ermokhin, who was abducted by Russian troops from Mariupol, Donetsk region, returned to Ukraine on Sunday, November 19, his 18th birthday. The head of the Presidential Office, Andrey Ermak, reported this on Telegram.
“Our team managed to bring home Bogdan Ermokhin, a Ukrainian man taken by Russia from occupied Mariupol to the Moscow region… Today Bogdan turned 18. The man once appealed to the President of Ukraine with a request to help him leave for Ukraine. We continue to communicate with Bogdan, and he is already in Ukraine next to his sister,” wrote the head of OP.
According to Ermak, Ermokhin’s return was made possible as part of the implementation of the president’s approved action plan of Bring Kids Back UA.
“We thank our partners from the State of Qatar and the international organization UNICEF,” added the head of the Office of the President.
Information about Ermokhin’s return to Ukraine was also confirmed by Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets.
“Bogdan Ermokhin is in Ukraine!.. The return took place in cooperation with the State of Qatar, UNICEF, the Ukrainian Embassy in Belarus based on the results of negotiations on the Russian side… Also about the man’s reunification with his sister, he contacted the Human Rights Commissioner in Russia. It was a thorny way,” he wrote on Facebook.
According to the ombudsman, “Ermokhin went through a lot while in Russia, but he wanted to go home. Today his wish came true.”
We remind you that earlier information appeared in the media that Ermokhin flew from the Russian Federation to Belarus on Sunday evening.
As you know, exiled 17-year-old Bogdan Ermokhin in Russia received a summons to appear at the military registration and enlistment office on December 19. The man asked Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky for help.
