The Russian Federation says Smolensk was attacked by Ukrainian drones, which it says it shot down. The governor of the Smolensk region, Vasily Anokhin, announced this on Friday, November 17.
According to him, the air defense and electronic warfare system destroyed “Ukrainian aircraft-type drones” in the Zadneprovsky Smolensk region and on the territory of the Smolensk region.
“According to preliminary data, there is no information about casualties. Emergency services are working at the scene of the incident,” Anokhin added.
Meanwhile, the Russian Telegram channel Baza wrote that one of the drones tried to attack the Smolensk Aviation Plant. According to him, around 8:00 the drone was stopped, it fell on the roof of one of the factories and exploded. The fire was extinguished; as a result of the incident, a one meter hole was left in the roof.
