The infuriating statement of the owner of the social network also received strong criticism from the White House. Other advertisers will soon disappear from the platform.
Apple is suspending all of its advertising campaigns on the social network X/Twitter due to inflammatory statements by its owner Elon Musk. Axios reported this on Friday, November 17.
It is noted that the decision of the company’s management was made after Musk commented on the publication of one of his social network users, who wrote that “Jewish communities promote the same dialectical hatred of white people that they ask to stop themselves.”
“You are really telling the truth,” the entrepreneur wrote in a comment to this publication.
Musk’s remarks caused widespread reaction, especially from the White House.
“It is unacceptable to repeat the horrific lies behind the deadliest act of anti-Semitism in American history at any time, let alone a month after the worst day for Jews since the Holocaust,” said by White House spokesman Andrew Bates.
The publication notes that Apple’s decision could be the beginning of an influx of advertising from the social network. Specifically, a spokesperson for Canadian media company Lions Gate Entertainment also told reporters that it has removed all of its advertising from X.
It was previously reported that X’s value dropped 55% in the year following Musk’s purchase.
Recently it became known that Musk will turn the social network X into a dating site and digital bank.
