Hidden among the ruins, invisible to the enemy, Ukrainian sniper Andrei (the hero’s name has been changed) remains motionless in his position for hours.

It’s best to target the middle of the body. Then the chance of missing the target is small. But if the distance allows, then it is better to kill the enemy with an accurate shot to the head,” he calmly tells the Bild journalist.
The sniper’s identity is known to BILD, but his name, age and unit in which he serves are kept secret. Andrey in particular is a prime target for the Russian military. Since the beginning of the war, the sniper has been involved in bloody battles and dangerous missions.
Having taken a position, we first observe the enemy’s movements, wind and weather. Only then do we decide when is the best time to shoot. Because you might not get a second chance to fire the shot,” he explains.
Once, during the battles for Bakhmut, Andrey entered the position at night along with another Ukrainian sniper.
We fought against the Wagner mercenaries, the most dangerous enemies because they are very aggressive. From a distance of about 300 meters, we saw Russians who had just entered the trenches, who had recently belonged to us. We shot at them indiscriminately. The trenches were not too deep and we tried to understand where the fire was coming from, but the fog hid our position. We retreated only when we had spent all our ammunition,” Andrei recalls.
That night, according to him, 19 mercenaries of the Wagner PPK were killed. BILD has reviewed the video footage confirming these losses.
I can tell you that I don’t feel anything when I kill. You simply destroy your enemy in a very methodical manner. When I fall asleep, I try not to think about work,” says Andrey.
