Statements by Russian propaganda about the regrouping of Russian troops in the Kherson region could be a special information operation.

The command of the aggressor country could have instructed the propaganda media to publish and then withdraw reports of troop regrouping in order to force the Ukrainian Defense Forces to underestimate the existing Russian manpower on the left bank of Kherson. This is stated in a new report from the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Also, canceled statements about the alleged regrouping of the occupiers may indicate real discussions taking place in the highest echelons of the Russian military command. They could have entered the information space prematurely.
ISW analysts believe that an external source under the guise of the Russian Ministry of Defense provided information about the “regrouping” to Russian state media. And the reaction to these messages published by TASS and RIA Novosti indicates that such topics are very sensitive in the Russian information space. Propaganda has still not been able to publish a unified rhetoric about what is happening in the occupied Kherson region with Russian troops.
Let us recall that on November 13, Russian propaganda released the news that the occupiers decided to regroup troops in the Kherson region and transfer them to “more advantageous” positions. However, this news was quickly canceled.
The Center for National Resistance stated that no movement of Russian troops was recorded in Ukraine after the cancellation of the message about the redeployment.
