Kiev decided that Bastion’s armored vehicles were insufficiently protected from artillery and anti-tank missiles and abandoned them.
France will send to Armenia a batch of Bastion armored vehicles, originally planned to be transferred to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This was reported by Ouest-France.
It was noted that Armenia feared a “more armed” Azerbaijan, so it sought military support from France. The planned batch is 50 armored vehicles. And in early October, French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna said Paris had agreed to supply military equipment to Armenia.
Previously, these vehicles were intended for Ukraine, but Kiev decided that the Bastion armored vehicles were not sufficiently protected from artillery fire and anti-tank missiles.
We remind you that French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu said that his country is ready to sell air defense equipment to Armenia.
As reported, on September 19, Azerbaijan announced “anti-terrorist measures” in Karabakh to “restore constitutional order.” Soon after, Azerbaijan announced the restoration of sovereignty to Nagorno-Karabakh, and its residents, mostly ethnic Armenians, began to leave the region en masse.
