It was reported that 265 deputies voted for the appointment of Golovny as Marshal of the Sejm, with the required minimum of 231 votes.

The United Right Party nominated the former leader of the lower house of the Polish parliament, Jelzbieta Witek, for the position of Marshal of the Sejm; he received 193 votes of support.
