Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets appealed to the SBU because of an incident involving the disclosure by linguist and ex-People’s Deputy Irina Farion of the personal data of a pro-Ukrainian student from Crimea, who as a result fell into the hands of the repressive authorities of the occupiers.

Lubinets announced this today, November 13, on his Facebook page.
Due to the fact of disclosure of confidential information, I contacted the Security Service of Ukraine for an appropriate response! So that the actions of the Ukrainian citizen are analyzed properly and given a legal assessment. No one should neglect the safety of other citizens!, the Ombudsman noted.
On November 8, Farion published a screenshot of an email with open personal data of a student from Crimea. Today it became known that the occupation “Center for Combating Extremism” of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs is “taking care” of the young man.
Lubinets notes that Farion is a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the 7th convocation and should know about the importance of protecting personal data, but she publicly provided the student’s last name, first name and place of study, which allowed the Russians to identify him.
This may also have (!) consequences. This is not only an interference in the private life of an individual, but also a threat to the personal safety and life of the student. However, on the one hand, she committed a criminal offense, on the other hand, she played along with the occupiers. The result is obvious! – the ombudsman emphasized.
Farion has already responded to this situation in her Telegram channel.
