The lion escaped from the circus and wandered the streets of the Italian city of Ladispoli near Rome. The German publication Bild reported this on Sunday, November 12.

City residents stayed in their homes and apartments for safety reasons while they tried to catch the animal.

The lion was subsequently temporarily killed. After that, the animal was returned to the circus.
