On November 13, the Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine will hold a meeting at the border with representatives of the Polish authorities and carriers to unblock checkpoints, the ministry reported.
The Ministry of Infrastructure of Poland, representatives of voivodeships, the European Commission Directorate for Mobility, the Ukrainian Embassy in Poland and carriers were invited to the meeting.
Let us remind you that last week in Poland, carriers blocked the movement of trucks from Ukraine.
The gradual blocking began on November 6 after 13.00 in the direction of the Yagodin-Dorohusk, Krakovets-Korcheva, and Rava-Russkaya-Hrebene checkpoints.
Protesters are unhappy with excessive competition following the liberalization of international transport between Ukraine and the EU. They demand the return of the practice of obtaining permits for Ukrainian transport companies and strengthening of transportation rules.
Protest organizers promise to allow one truck per hour through. Trucks with cargo of a safe and humanitarian nature, those transporting animals and perishable products, will also be allowed through. The action is planned at least until the end of the year.
The Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland Vasily Zvarych condemned the actions of the organizers.
The blocking of roads by Polish carriers is a painful stab in the back of Ukraine, which is suffering from Russian aggression. The corridors of solidarity between Ukraine and the EU are under threat. We call for an end to the border blockade! – he wrote.
As RMF24 writes, truck queues are getting longer. For example, the waiting time in front of the Dorogusk-Yagodin point increased from 39 to 50 hours. There are about 900 trucks in the queue. In Grebennoy the approximate waiting time is 130 hours. There are about 1,300 trucks there.
