This was announced during a press briefing by Deputy Representative of the US Department of Defense Sabrina Singh.
Allies and partners continue to support Ukraine with what it needs in the fight,” Singh emphasized.
She said Washington intends to continue providing military aid packages to Ukraine, although they will be fewer, pending approval from Congress.
So we do ask Congress to accept the additional request made by the President so that we can continue to meet Ukraine’s battlefield needs,” she said.
The spokeswoman added that the administration of US President Joe Biden has proposed an additional package to support Ukraine, Israel and global humanitarian assistance, as well as the Indian-Pacific region.
She noted that pressure to pass the package continues to grow as Congress rejected the initial request and the United States was forced to reduce support for Ukraine.
Let us remind you that meetings of the Contact Group on the Defense of Ukraine have been held regularly since April 2022. They bring together the defense ministers of several dozen countries to discuss the provision of military assistance to Ukraine. The last meeting took place on October 11.
On October 28, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin discussed the next meeting in the Ramstein format. The Pentagon press service said in a statement that about 50 countries will take part in the next multilateral meeting on defense support for Ukraine.
