BILD wrote on November 11 that the German Ministry of Finance initially budgeted only 4 billion euros for military aid to Ukraine in the 2024 budget.
However, all of them have already been reserved for the promised projects. The German Ministry of Defense has only 120 million euros left for new aid packages. Therefore, the military asked for an additional 5 billion euros.
According to BILD sources in the German Ministry of Defense, this week the German government decided that the military budget will be increased by 4 billion euros. In addition, the Ministry of Defense has another 2 billion euros that can be spent as so-called funds for the implementation of long-term defense contracts.
Next week, the Bundestag Budget Committee will officially decide on changes to the state budget.
For Kyiv, this means more weapons and ammunition in the defense war against Russia, notes Bild.
