Gordiychuk (call sign Sumrak) posted a message on Facebook about his face-to-face meeting with Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. He wrote that his new position was deputy head of the National Defense University of Ukraine named after Chernyakhovsky.
Gordiychuk headed the Kiev Military Lyceum named after Ivan Bohun on April 26, 2016 after a long rehabilitation. He was a participant in the war in eastern Ukraine in 2014, led a special forces detachment that carried out deep reconnaissance tasks behind enemy lines, and commanded an operation to take control of the strategic height of Savur-Mogila. He suffered a severe head wound while leaving Ilovaisk on August 29, and underwent rehabilitation in the USA for a long time.
Gordiychuk’s post was taken by Evgeny Kamalov, born in 1984 in Choibalsan (Mongolian People’s Republic) into the family of a military man. He studied at the Kharkov Institute of Tank Forces at the National Technical University KhPI in 2001-2006. He began his service in the 300th training tank regiment of the 169th KSO Training Center in the positions of: deputy company commander for weapons, commander of a training support company, commander of a training tank company, deputy commander of a training tank battalion, commander of a training tank battalion.
