Investigators and military counterintelligence of the SBU collected evidence of the criminal activities of the former deputy head of the Ministry of Defense, who held this post from 2021 to 2023. He is suspected of embezzling public funds worth almost a billion hryvnia. This was reported by the press center of the Security Service of Ukraine.
It turned out that in 2022, this official entered into a conspiracy with his subordinates and purchased low-quality military uniforms from a private company for almost 1 billion UAH.
However, the Ukrainian military cannot use this uniform because it is unsuitable for use in the cold season in conditions of intense combat operations.
The intelligence service has already informed the ex-deputy of suspicion under Part 5 of Art. 191 (misappropriation, embezzlement of property or taking possession of it through abuse of official position) and Part 2 of Art. 28 and part 1 of Art. 114-1 (obstruction of the legitimate activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The former acting leader also received the same suspicion. O. Director of the Department of Public Procurement of the Ministry of Defense.
Currently, both attackers are in custody. They face up to 12 years with confiscation of property.
Let us remind you that the head of the National Health Service of Ukraine, Natalya Husak, is suspected of official negligence because she did not check the work on administering the central database of the electronic health system. Therefore, the state suffered damage worth UAH 2 million.
