Ukraine has made significant progress towards EU membership and next week the European Commission will present an enlargement report. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said this at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky on Saturday, November 4.

“I must say that you have made good progress. We will confirm this next week when the Commission presents its report on the expansion,” he said.

According to von der Leyen, the European Union is amazed by Ukraine’s reforms.

“We are amazed at the reforms you are implementing in the midst of war. We must not forget that you are fighting for your own existence and at the same time deeply reforming your country. You are reforming the justice system, fighting the influence of oligarchs, fight against money laundering “, said the head of the EC.

In his opinion, Ukraine is in the process of completing major reforms.

“And if this happens, I am confident that Ukraine’s ambitious goal of moving to the next stage of the accession process will be achieved,” von der Leyen concluded.

As you know, on June 23, 2022, Ukraine received the status of a candidate for EU accession. Today our state fulfills several conditions to become a full member of the bloc.
