Biden and Albanese discussed the war in Ukraine and joint efforts to further support Kyiv.
US President Joe Biden met with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in Washington and discussed his commitment to support Ukraine in countering Russian aggression. The White House announced this on Wednesday, October 25.
It was noted that the leaders condemned Russia’s illegal and unprovoked war against Ukraine, which violates international law, the UN Charter, and involves global food and energy security.
“We once again call on Russia to immediately, fully and unconditionally withdraw its troops from Ukraine’s internationally recognized borders. The United States and Australia are committed to supporting Ukraine to enable it to resolve this conflict on its own these terms,” the statement said.
It is also reported that Australia has responded to a request from the United States and will deploy an E-7A Wedgetail long-range radar surveillance aircraft to Germany. It is argued that the deployment of the Australian contingent will strengthen the multi-layered defense of international aid flows to Ukraine, providing early warning of a threat to the aid gateway.
Let’s recall that on Wednesday it was reported that Australia provided a new package of military aid to Ukraine in the amount of $12 million, which includes a 3D metal printer and anti-drone systems. The government will also send a Royal Australian Air Force E-7A Wedgetail to Germany to support international humanitarian and military assistance efforts in Ukraine.
Previously, an Australian company produced and transferred to Ukraine the Slinger drone killer system. Another Australian company provided the Ukrainian military with 3D printers for printing spare parts.
