Ukrainians should expect a relatively warm winter and a short frost period this year.
This year’s winter is likely to be warmer than usual, and the frost season will be shorter. This was said by the forecaster of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center Natalya Ptukha, reports Radio NV.
“According to information from our climatologists (and not only us, but also the world), there is a global tendency that the cold weather in our region is becoming more intense, there are fewer periods of very frosty weather. And in percentage terms, of course, there is more chance that the winter will be warm,” she said.
At the same time, Ptukha noted that each rule may have its own exceptions.
“We had a September with record high temperatures. In general, we continued to have a meteorological summer in Ukraine and in many European countries. And now we see that a few days ago we also had record temperatures in many places, even in the Odessa region + It will be 30 degrees and higher during the day on the weekend,” said the forecaster.
According to him, this trend will continue and, in percentage terms, there is a possibility of having a warmer winter than usual.
Earlier it was reported that in the Kyiv region a new temperature record broke the figure set 88 years ago. And during the summer, 13 temperature records were recorded in Kyiv.
