On Saturday morning, an explosion was heard in Cyprus near the Israeli Embassy in Nicosia. Local publication Cyprus Mail reported this on October 21.
“A small piece of metal was found approximately 30 meters from the embassy, which contained a small amount of explosive pyrotechnic material, but did not cause any damage,” the report said.
The police detained four suspects who are between 17 and 21 years old. According to preliminary data, they all came to Cyprus from Syria.
When their vehicle was searched, two knives and a hammer were found. The 21-year-old owner of the car was detained for possession of weapons.
