The militant mocked the civilians of the Kherson region, in particular, tried to “beat” them into a “confession” of involvement in the resistance movement.
SBU officers and special forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces conducted a special operation in the temporarily occupied territory, as a result of which they detained a militant involved in mass torture of civilians. The court sentenced him to 15 years behind bars, the SBU press service reported.
It was noted that a former resident of the occupied Zhdanovka Donetsk region, who voluntarily joined the terrorists in 2014, took part in torturing civilians in the left bank of the Kherson region.
“The attacker taunted the people and threatened to kill them. The facts were documented when he shot the legs of the abducted residents of the region or shot near the victims’ heads, simulating a murder,” the report said.
The court sentenced him to 12 years in prison. Considering that the attacker had previously been convicted of high treason, the court sentenced him to 15 years behind bars based on the totality of his crimes.
Earlier, the SBU detained a traitor who was directing Russian attacks on Kherson. The Russian agent turned out to be a local resident who, on his own initiative, began working for the enemy in June of this year.
It was also reported that in the Kirovograd region, a Russian missile gunner received a life sentence.
