The attacker targeted three people: two dead Swedish fans and a taxi driver, who is now safe.
The Belgian capital declared the highest level of terrorist threat after an unidentified man shot people in the street and fled, RTBF reports.
It noted that the terrorist threat level in the Brussels region was raised to fourth, the highest, “due to a serious and imminent threat.”
Meanwhile, the Euro 2024 qualifier between Belgium and Sweden was canceled after a shooting occurred minutes before kick-off. 30 minutes after the first half, which ended with the score 1:1, the stadium announcer confirmed that the players decided not to return the match.
The local prosecutor’s office said the attacker targeted three people, two Swedish fans who died and a taxi driver, who is now safe.
The intelligence services also have a video in which a man records himself and claims to be a member of the Islamic State terrorist group. He said he took revenge in the name of Islam by killing three Swedes. The authenticity of this video has not been verified.
It was previously reported that the attacker shouted “Allahu Akbar” during the shooting. He managed to escape and probably still isn’t there.
We remind you that there was a shooting at a checkpoint in Kyiv. The serviceman shot the tires of a car whose driver did not stop when asked.
