The US Department of Defense intends to actively engage with the US Congress to quickly resume military support for Ukraine in its fight against the occupier. Pentagon Speaker General Patrick Ryder said this on Thursday, October 5, Ukrinform writes.
“We need funding from Congress. We will continue to work with Congress, with members of both parties, to advocate for the funding we need,” Ryder said.
He also recalled that there is currently $5.4 billion left in the budget to support Ukraine, as well as about $1.6 billion to replenish Pentagon stockpiles used in aid packages for Ukraine.
The United States is looking for ways to provide uninterrupted military support to Ukraine and may provide funds to assist Ukrainian defenders through a State Department program.
The United States plans to achieve the goal of producing 155-mm artillery shells at the rate of 100 thousand pieces per month.
