The Czech Security and Information Service exposed a Russian agent distributing propaganda from the aggressor country. This was said by the head of this department, Michal Kudelka, iROZHLAS reports on Monday, September 25.
According to him, the Russian agent offered a bribe of several thousand euros for the dissemination of Russian propaganda.
“An agent of influence, commissioned by one of the highest bodies of the Russian government, distributed thousands of euros to spread in the public space narratives supporting the foreign policy interests of the Russian Federation in connection with the war in Ukraine. Even publicly known people were used to spread this information,” the official said.
Koudelka noted that there were attempts at Russian influence in the Czech Republic before: during the presidential election campaign at the beginning of the year, the Russian propaganda agency. Satellite released a fake video featuring Peter Pavel, in which he allegedly called on Prague to intervene in the war in Ukraine.
Russia also spread disinformation about the recruitment of Czech citizens into the private military company Wagner.
