As the Ukrainian military offensive shows signs of progress, the Biden administration is seeking to bolster the Ukrainian military “at a crucial time.”

US President Joe Biden will soon decide to move long-range missiles loaded with cluster bombs to Ukraine. Reuters reported this on Monday, September 11, citing four American officials.

Seeing the success of the use of 155mm artillery-delivering cluster munitions by the Ukraine Defense Forces in recent months, Washington is considering providing one or both of the Army’s ATACMS, capable of striking at 306 km, or 306 km, according to three US officials .guide multiple launch rocket system (GMLRS) with cluster bombs.

If approved, any option is available for fast delivery to Ukraine.

Now the Ukrainian side has 155-mm artillery, capable of carrying up to 48 rounds. The ATACMS system under consideration would fire about 300 or more bombs. The GMLRS missile system, a type that the Ukrainian Armed Forces also have in their arsenal, can disperse up to 404 cluster munitions.

As the offensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces shows signs of progress, the Biden administration is seeking to strengthen the Ukrainian army “at a crucial time,” two agency sources said.

At the same time, American officials added that the decision to send ATACMS and/or GMLRS is not final and may not be made.

As reported, the US State Department admitted that negotiations are underway regarding the transfer of long-range ATACMS missiles to Ukraine.

We remind you that President Vladimir Zelensky said that he hopes to convince his American counterpart Joe Biden to approve as soon as possible the decision to transfer long-term ATACMS systems to the Ukrainian military.
