Heavy rains caused rivers to overflow. A state of emergency has been declared in the municipality of Tsarevo.

A state of emergency has been declared in the Bulgarian municipality of Tsarevo on the Black Sea coast due to a strong storm. As a result of the bad weather, at least two people have died and one is considered missing, Novinite reported on September 5.

The city of Akhtopol and the villages of Varvara, Sinemorets and Rezovo were completely de-energized due to the destroyed bridges.

In the settlements of Burgas, Tsarevo and Primorsko, several rescue service brigades work.

“Due to heavy rains, which caused flooding, a state of emergency has been declared in the municipality of Tsarevo,” the Interior Ministry asserted.

The local population is being urged to evacuate. Due to the flooding of the Veleka River, a part of the Varvara-Sinemorets road was blocked.

It will be remembered that 13 people died in Tajikistan due to heavy rains.
