A South African citizen was on his way to Dubai from Ukraine. Besides a combat grenade, he was carrying four bullets.
From Warsaw Chopin airport about 400 people were evacuated because of a man with a grenade and four rounds of ammunition. This was reported on August 28 by RMF FM.
It was noted that on Monday around 15.05 local time, during the examination of the hand luggage of a 41-year-old citizen of the Republic of South Africa, who was traveling from Ukraine to Dubai, four cartridges of 5.56 mm caliber were found.
On this basis, the passenger’s checked-in luggage was examined, in which a live grenade was found.
In connection with the incident, the airport on duty decided to stop traffic and evacuate the departure terminal. By 4 pm the situation was back to normal.
A South African citizen was detained by border guards, on Tuesday he was due to be brought to court.
Earlier it was reported that the head of the Norwegian leftist party Rødt, Bjernar Moxnes, resigned amid the scandal over the theft of glasses at the Oslo airport.
