Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted the importance of every resident of the country in the difficult struggle for freedom.
On August 24, President Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated Ukrainians on Independence Day, calling it a holiday of free, strong and worthy people.
“Today we celebrate the 32nd anniversary of our independence – the independence of Ukraine. The holiday of free people. The holiday of strong people. The holiday of the worthy. The holiday of equals. Ukrainians and Ukrainian women. Everyone in our entire state. This is a value for each of us, and we fight for it “And in this fight, everything is important, because this fight is for what is important for to everyone. This is a free Ukraine,” he said.
Zelensky emphasized that in a big war there are no small tasks and insignificant people.
“Now I want to dedicate this greeting to you. To you, who gives freedom to Ukraine. To you, warrior! You stood up for Ukraine. I thank every soldier and sailor, every sergeant and foreman, every officer, every general. You, the father of the Ukrainian warrior , you are the mother of the Ukrainian defender. All Ukrainian families who have raised their children love Ukraine and the courage to defend it with all their strength,” the head of the country insisted .
He thanked the heroes who gave their lives at the front, and also mentioned the work of Ukrainian teachers, doctors, power engineers, rescuers, law enforcement officers, journalists, defense workers – those those “rewarded by closed orders and who perform the most difficult operations.”
“Everyone who works and gives work to others is important. He pays taxes for which the army, defense, movement forward and success in the future are provided. Everyone who organizes a meeting and supports the fire of volunteerism, the sincere Ukrainian unity… Who gained glory for Ukraine through sports victories Who opened the door of their own house and sheltered the homeless. Thank you,” said head of state
Remember that this year Ukraine celebrates the 32nd anniversary of independence.
On August 24, 1991, at an extraordinary session of the Verkhovna Rada, 346 deputies voted “for” the adoption Act of Declaration of Independence of Ukraine. The text of the document is typed on a typewriter and fits on one sheet.
On December 1, 1991, an all-Ukrainian referendum was held, in which a question was raised: “Do you confirm the Act of Declaration of Independence of Ukraine?”
84.18% of the population of Ukraine (about 31.8 million people) took part in voting, of which 90.32% (28.8 million people) were in favor.
On February 20, 1992, the Parliament decided to consider August 24 as the Independence Day of Ukraine and celebrate it annually as a public holiday.
