It is reported by “RBC-Ukraine” with reference to the publication Financial Time.
An unnamed Western official told the publication that he has information about the destruction of the plane by a Russian anti-aircraft missile system. At the same time, he did not confirm or deny the data on whether Prigozhin was on board at the time of the downing of the aircraft.
Putin does not take prisoners,” the official summed up.
The version about the destruction of the air defense aircraft was voiced earlier by some Russian “military correspondents”.
It is known that Prigozhin’s plane crashed 50 km from the location of the air defense systems of the 42nd anti-aircraft missile regiment of the Russian armed forces. In addition, the Khotilovo air base is located nearby.
Yesterday, an Embraer Legacy 600 plane with 10 people on board crashed in the Tver region of the Russian Federation. The Federal Air Transport Agency published the names of all the passengers – Prigozhin, the commander of the Wagner PKK Dmitry Utkin, Prigozhin’s deputy Valery Chekalov and several other mercenaries were listed there. So far, Prigozhin’s death has not been officially confirmed, the remains of the bodies have been sent for examination.
Also, the Flightradar24 air service published a full report on the accident of Prigozhin’s plane. According to the resource, the receivers received the first information from Embraer at 17:46. By 18:10 the plane reached cruising altitude. After another nine minutes, the vertical speed of the aircraft began to change dramatically: from 30,100 feet to 19,725 feet. Then the Embraer Legacy 600 descended 2.4 km in 30 seconds, held its altitude for a few more seconds, and then began to fall rapidly and crashed.
