Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky responded to “proposals” to exchange territories for NATO membership.
President Volodymyr Zelensky, in response to a question about territorial concessions for Ukraine’s membership in NATO, said that Ukraine is ready to trade Russian Belgorod for membership in the Alliance.
“Swap territories? We are ready to trade Belgorod for our NATO membership,” the head of state said at a joint press conference with Danish Prime Minister Matte Frederiksen on Sunday, August 20.
Thus, Zelensky commented on proposals to exchange Ukrainian territory for peace and NATO membership.
It will be remembered that recently the head of the office of the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance, Stian Jenssen, said that Ukraine could join NATO in exchange for the territories acquired by the Russian Federation.
In response, the Foreign Ministry called the talk about Ukraine joining NATO in exchange for giving up part of the territories completely unacceptable.
