The Ukrainian military continues to have success in the south of the country during counter-offensive operations.
In the course of counter-offensive operations, the Ukrainian military advanced on Sunday, August 13, in the west of Donetsk – in the east of the Zaporozhye regions, as well as in the western part of the Zaporozhye region. This is stated in the report of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
The summary cited a statement of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which said that Ukrainian forces conducted offensive operations in the directions of Berdyansk and Melitopol and achieved partial success in the Robotino region (western part of the region of Zaporozhye, 13 km south. of Orekhov).
It was noted that many Russian sources claimed on August 12 that Russian troops retreated from Urozhayne (on the borders of Donetsk and Zaporozhye regions). However, on August 13, multiple Russian sources denied these claims. They said that Russian troops are still occupying the southern part of Urozhayne.
ISW could not confirm that the Russian invaders had fully withdrawn from Urozhayne.
At the same time, ISW analysts consider it likely that Russian troops are holding positions at least in the southern part of the settlement.
Remember, on Sunday, the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Ukrainian artillerymen in the Taurida direction completed 1,630 fire missions during the day, the loss of the Russian army in killed, wounded and captured reached 269 people.
