This was reported today, August 12, in the Telegram channel of the Buchansk City Council.
Today, on August 12, a religious meeting of the city was held on Kievskaya Square, at which a decision was made by a majority vote of Buchan residents to transfer the Church of the Pochaev Icon of the Mother of God of the UOC (MP) to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, the message says.
It is noted that, according to the counting commission, 348 people took part in the voting. Their votes were distributed as follows:
- 337 people voted “for” the transition;
- 11 people voted against.
Also at the meeting, those present unanimously voted for an appeal to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine regarding the ban of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate on the territory of Ukraine.
