The officer, under the guise of allegedly protecting state property from enemy fire, seized a TUNA 865 Cabin speedboat with two outboard engines and a car trailer.
The chairman of one of the district councils of the Odessa region was exposed to the theft of the property of the State Ecological Inspectorate of the South-Western District for 2 million 690 thousand hryvnias. This was announced on Thursday, August 10, by the Odessa Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the investigation, the officer, under the purported protection of state property from enemy shooting, took a TUNA 865 Cabin speedboat with two outboard engines and a car trailer, through cheating people whose property is stored on the territory of the Sauvignon yacht club in Odessa and putting false information in the documents.
Subsequently, the suspect moved the boat to a “safe” place on the territory of the plant in the city of Belyaevka and disposed of it at his own discretion.
The prosecutor’s office states that the head of the district council was detained pursuant to Art. 615 Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation. He was informed of the suspicion of theft on a large scale.
The prosecutor’s office did not name the official, but according to UP, it is about the head of the district council of the Belgorod-Dnestrovsky district, Grigory Melnichenko.
Earlier it was reported that in the Odessa region, a military accountant embezzled more than 10 million from the sailors’ salary fund.
It will be remembered that earlier the SBU recorded the corruption crimes of the deputy of the Odessa Regional Council and his wife. They stole more than 24 million hryvnias for the repair of social infrastructure facilities.
