The blocking of the “grain corridor” by the aggressor country, Russia, changed the direction of Ukraine’s railroad freight traffic to the Danube ports. Tariffs are currently being negotiated with Moldova. At the same time, the inefficient operation of the “grain corridor” led to a drop in rail traffic in the direction of the ports of Big Odessa.

Valeriy Tkachev, deputy director of the department of commercial work of Ukrzaliznytsia, announced this at a meeting with freight carriers, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
No one can say whether the Black Sea Grain Initiative will work, but 90% of this is my personal forecast, the corridor will either be closed, or it will work as it is now – extremely inefficient, he said.
At the same time, according to him, the cargo traffic in the direction of the Danube ports of Izmail and Reni has grown. Now the carriers are waiting for the announcement of new tariffs for the Moldovan railway.
Tariffs for transit transportation by rail transport through the territory of Moldova are 57% higher than those in Ukrzaliznytsia. At the same time, since July 1, they have increased by 8-11%.
The head of UZ said that the Moldovan side had already submitted a proposal to Kyiv on updated tariffs for the transportation of agricultural goods.
We have set out a number of methodological issues in writing and will send a corresponding request to our Moldovan colleagues,” Tkachev said.
The representative of UZ added that the Ukrainian side is considering the possibility of providing discounts for transit cargo transportation for Moldova.
