French President Emmanuel Macron has canceled a state visit to Germany scheduled for July 2-4 due to protests in the country.
To stop the unrest in some French cities, special forces units were brought into the streets, armored vehicles and helicopters were used. The government deployed 40,000 law enforcement officers to fight the riots.
