The leaders of the Poltava Mining and Processing Plant (GOK), controlled by the sub-sanctioned billionaire Konstantin Zhevago, embezzled almost 400 million hryvnias of budget funds. This was reported by the SBU on Thursday, June 29.
“Six company officials were exposed, who created an organized criminal group. They set up a scheme for embezzling budget funds on the acquisition and sale of minerals for about 400 million hryvnias,” said of the report.
According to the investigation, during 2019-2022, the defendants supplied bulk crushed stone at an artificially low cost to an affiliated commercial structure. They sold the stone, without proper special permission. So, 1 ton of raw materials was sold to “their companies” for 30-50 hryvnias. And then they sold the race at the market price, which was almost ten times more.

Analysis of the basis of the Kyiv Research Institute of Forensic Experts confirmed the facts of criminal activity and damage to the budget.
During the searches at the addresses of the actual residence, at the offices and production facilities of the defendants, documents and other material evidence of the transaction were found.
Based on the collected evidence, the director of the Mining and Processing Plant, his authorized representative, the chief accountant and head of the company’s sales department, the former chief and chief accountant of the controlled company, as well as the current director. , was informed of a suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

allocation of budget funds for the acquisition and sale of minerals for almost UAH 400 million (part 5 of article 191 of the Criminal Code);

legalization (laundering) of property obtained by criminal means (part 3 of article 209 of the Criminal Code).
The issue of choosing a measure of restraint is decided. The perpetrators face up to 12 years in prison.
Recall that in March, the Economic Court of Kyiv decided to arrest Konstantin Zhevago’s assets as part of the case for damages in the amount of almost 46 billion hryvnias.
It is also known that at the end of 2022, Zhevago will be confined to the French ski resort of Courchevel. But in March it became known that France refused to extradite the businessman.
In May, the State Bureau of Investigation announced progress in returning the money to Zhevago.
